upper elementary Montessori lead guide

Our Elementary Program is exciting and unique: a mixed-aged community learning alongside one another in a rich social environment. It continues the Montessori approach of practiced autonomy and self-mastery, of highly individualized lessons and extended periods of concentrated work.  Upper Elementary participants are 9-12 years old.

We have an amazing team of Guides who are available to assist, provide feedback and help develop skills. This is an opportunity to learn directly from an experienced Upper Elementary Lead Guide in a mentor/mentee capacity offering the amazing opportunity to develop, practice and refine your skills in a safe and nurturing environment. In this role, you will work alongside our Mentor Guide for the spring semester and lead the classroom the following year.  We also offer assistance with earning an on-line Montessori certification.

Some Key Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma plus 3 years work experience required

Substitute Teacher, Support Staff, Subject Specialist

  • Fill in for Lead Guides, Classroom Assistants, or Practical Life Specialists working with 3–12-year-olds.

  • Available on short notice or for planned absences.

  • Professional Development & Montessori Orientation is required.

  • Associate degree or higher preferred. High School diploma required.

  • Experience with children or youth is preferred.

  • Must pass background checks.

    Learning Center Schedule: 

  • Monday - Thursday  8:00 - 3:15 (school hours) 

  • Academic year (9-months September-May)

  • Flexible hours for training and professional development

    Compensation: 

    $12-18 per hour depending on relevant education and experience
